Learn the five ALOHA values with one die.
Start with one six-sided ALOHA die: roll, recognize the symbol, recall the value, and reveal its meaning. Repeat to build confidence. When ready, use that same die to reflect on real situations and practice ALOHA in everyday life.
First, learn the language.
Share Aloha Now begins with a simple goal: become familiar with the five values represented by ALOHA.
You do not need to master a method or solve a difficult situation first. Start by recognizing the symbols, recalling the words, and learning their meanings.
The learning sequence
Learn → Remember → Reflect → Apply → Practice
The physical and digital ALOHA die support this progression one roll at a time.
The five ALOHA values
Begin by connecting each symbol with its word and meaning.
Akahai
Kindness to be expressed with tenderness.
Lōkahi
Unity to be expressed with harmony.
ʻOluʻolu
Agreeableness to be expressed with pleasantness.
Haʻahaʻa
Humility to be expressed with modesty.
Ahonui
Patience to be expressed with perseverance.
Don’t just read them. Recall them.
Teaching Mode is designed to encourage active recall before showing the answer.
Roll
The die gives you one ALOHA symbol.
Recall
Try to remember the value before revealing the answer.
Reveal
Confirm the value and read its meaning.
The ALOHA Pause
The triangle is different from the five individual value faces. It represents ALOHA as an integrated whole.
When the triangle appears, pause and try to recall all five values. As your practice develops, use the pause to consider the situation through Akahai, Lōkahi, ʻOluʻolu, Haʻahaʻa, and Ahonui together.
When the words become familiar
Learning the words is the foundation, not the finish line.
As recall improves, begin asking how an individual value could shape your response to a real situation.
- A personal experience
- A workplace situation
- A family conversation
- A community issue
- A group scenario
Move into Practice Mode
Practice Mode adds reflection questions so the value becomes a lens for considering what to do next.
The goal is not to produce a perfect answer. It is to practice bringing ALOHA into the moment intentionally.
